Bring back the 80's!!!

One of my favorite authors is having fun on her blog posting pics from readers about awesome 80's fashion and hair. This all ties in with the release of her newest book Pretty in Plaid by Jen Lancaster. http://www.jennsylvania.com/

I've really enjoyed the 80's edition of her blog and was prompted to dig out some of my own 80's pictures. I seem to be missing quite a few, but still found some gems!
1. After learning that my prom date was an idiot, I ditched him and returned my pink off the shoulder dress and opted for a lady tux instead. The pants had more pleats than an accordian. Think Morris Day from the Time! Too bad you can't see my shoes, they were white and black wing tip style spectator pumps.
2. The senior pic. Class of 1983. Notice that my feathers go all the way down to the end of my hair! That took real effort and skill. And yes, that's a sailor style top. My skirt had a dropped waist.
3. This lovely peplum waisted number with the white sequined bodice was worn to a winter evening wedding in January 1984. (much to my mom's horror) I believe I stole the gloves from my grandma's basement. Yes, that's a spittoon on the hearth. and faux pearls.
4. Halloween 1984 found me dressed like Madonna. Not much more to say. The picture says it all. Oh, this introduces my first gay friend, Jesse, dressed as a hobo. I used the same wig the following year to be Dolly Parton.
6. Ah, 1985 and we see me with my gay friend Jesse posing at Olan Mills for a family portrait with our Cabbage Patch Baby Erik. Yes, Erik is wearing a sailor suit. Notice the color coordinated jewelry.
7. And last but not least, we find the very last year of my favorite decade and I'm at Glamour Shots. I believe the earring size is important to balance my humongously permed hair and that huge purple lame bow that is about to attack my neck!
So, after all this fun 80's talk with my 2 good friends, we have decided to have an 80's party for next Halloween!! I can hardly WAIT!!! Still not sure exactly how I'll dress, there's time to work on that. I want to glue yellow yarn to my husbands fat bald head and call him a cabbage patch kid! Or he could team up with the neighbors husband and they can be Crockett & Tubbs! I know I need to RELAX, Halloween is 7 months away!!! But I secretly can't wait to buy some dippity doo and aquanet!
